This project is focused on strengthening a high performing culture through leadership, teamwork, psychological safety, operational learning and consistent behaviours in the field.
We are looking for experienced coaches who can work credibly within an operational environment, build trust quickly and support individuals and teams to reflect, learn and improve.
The Role
As an Associate Coach, you will work alongside leaders, supervisors and teams in the operational environment to support the development of a consistent high performing culture.
The role will involve observing work as done, coaching in the moment, asking powerful questions, providing appropriate challenge and feedback, and helping individuals and teams translate learning into everyday practice.
You will also help identify capability gaps and, where appropriate, support targeted learning and development.
The role is not simply about identifying what is not working. Coaches will be encouraged to recognise and learn from the positive pockets of culture that already exist within the organisation, understanding what enables them and how good practice can be strengthened and shared.
Depending on the project requirements, the role will be site based and may involve working on a rotational or fixed-days basis.
FidesOak® will provide training, tools and methodologies to support the delivery of the programme.
Key Responsibilities
Provide high quality professional coaching to leaders, supervisors and individuals.
Work with teams to support defined areas of focus linked to high performing culture.
Observe and understand work as done within the operational environment.
Coach and provide appropriate feedback and challenge in the moment.
Support individuals to reflect on their behaviours, decisions and impact.
Identify capability and development opportunities and support appropriate learning interventions.
Help leaders strengthen areas including communication, psychological safety, leadership consistency, teamwork and employee engagement.
Recognise and learn from positive pockets of culture and identify what enables effective practice.
Help individuals and teams translate learning into sustainable changes in everyday behaviour.
Maintain appropriate records of coaching activity and progress using FidesOak® methodologies and tools.
Provide relevant insights from the field to support the wider programme, while maintaining appropriate confidentiality and professional boundaries.
Monitor progress and identify evidence of behavioural and cultural change.
Work collaboratively with other coaches and FidesOak® colleagues to ensure consistency of approach.
Seek feedback on your coaching practice and demonstrate ongoing self-reflection.
Maintain your own continuing professional development and professional standards.
Key Qualifications / Requirements
Recognised coaching qualification and/or accreditation with an appropriate professional coaching body.
or
Proven significant experience of coaching and developing people within a professional or operational environment.
In addition, you will need:
Experience of working with leaders, supervisors and/or operational teams.
Confidence working in a field-based, operational or high-risk environment.
The ability to establish credibility and trust with people at different levels of an organisation.
Strong understanding of professional coaching practice, boundaries and confidentiality.
Ability to work flexibly and adapt your coaching approach to the needs of the individual, team and environment.
English language capability.

Comfortable working in an operational environment and engaging with people at all levels.
Able to recognise and learn from positive practice as well as areas requiring improvement.
Understanding of psychological safety, leadership behaviours and team dynamics.
Able to maintain professional boundaries and recognise when an issue requires escalation or referral.
Strong planning and organisational skills.
Able to maintain concise and accurate records.
Comfortable using virtual coaching platforms where required.
Desirable Sector Experience
Experience in one or more of the following environments would be desirable:
Mining
Manufacturing
Construction
Other high-risk or complex operational environments
Experience of working within a remote, rotational or shift-based environment would also be advantageous.
