Performance Coach en Safety Leadership
At FidesOak®, we believe High Performing Cultures start with High Performing Teams and that people are at the heart of the solution.
Control of Work (Control del Trabajo)
Conocimiento práctico de Control of Work y gestión del riesgo operativo.

Fluent Spanish Speaker | International Role / Flexible Location | Site-Based / Rotational Working | Contract
FidesOak® is looking for experienced operational professionals from high-hazard industries who have the credibility, practical experience and people skills to coach site management, supervisors and frontline teams where work actually happens.
We are particularly interested in people who have worked in operational or supervisory roles in high-hazard environments such as mining, heavy manufacturing, construction, energy or other complex industrial operations, and who understand the realities of managing safe work in the field.
You will need a strong working knowledge of areas such as Control of Work, critical controls and barrier management, together with the ability to engage confidently with supervisors, frontline personnel and site leadership.
You must also be professionally fluent in Spanish, including the ability to understand and use the technical and safety-critical language encountered in high-hazard operations.
Previous experience in a dedicated coaching role is desirable, but it is not essential. We are equally interested in experienced operational people who have developed others through coaching, mentoring, supervision and leadership as part of their career.
FidesOak® is a UK-based organisation, you will also need a strong working command of English. You must be able to communicate effectively with FidesOak® colleagues and client stakeholders, participate fully in team discussions and programme meetings, and understand and contribute to written programme materials, reporting and professional communications in English.
We do not expect English to be your first language, but you must be comfortable working professionally in English as part of an international programme.
The role
At FidesOak®, we believe High Performing Cultures start with High Performing Teams and that people are at the heart of the solution.
Our Performance Coaches work on site, alongside operational teams, supporting an international client programme focused on strengthening safety, leadership, teamwork, psychological safety, operational learning and consistent behaviours.
Depending on the project, you will work on rotation or to a defined site-based schedule. This role therefore requires people who are comfortable spending significant periods working within operational environments and travelling internationally.
You will observe work as it is actually done, engage with the people doing and supervising the work, ask effective questions, provide appropriate challenge and feedback, and help teams understand how everyday decisions and behaviours influence operational and safety outcomes.
Your operational credibility matters. You need to be able to understand conversations about the work, recognise the significance of what you observe and discuss operational and safety-critical issues confidently with the people involved.
The role is not simply about identifying what is going wrong. An important part of our approach is recognising positive pockets of culture and operational practice, understanding what enables them and helping teams strengthen and replicate what already works well.
FidesOak® will provide training in our coaching tools, methodologies and approach to support you in delivering the programme.
What you will be doing
You will spend much of your time in the operational environment, working directly with site leaders, supervisors and frontline teams.
Your work will include:
Observing and understanding work as done, not simply work as imagined (how it is believed it is done) or documented
Engaging with operational teams around Control of Work, critical controls, barriers and the management of operational risk
Coaching and mentoring supervisors, leaders and frontline personnel in the field
Helping people reflect on their decisions, behaviours and impact on safe and effective operations
Providing constructive challenge and feedback in the moment
Supporting stronger leadership, communication, teamwork, psychological safety and employee engagement
Recognising examples of strong operational practice and understanding what enables them
Helping teams translate learning into practical and sustainable changes in everyday behaviour
Identifying capability and development opportunities
Monitoring progress and identifying evidence of behavioural and cultural change
Sharing relevant insights from the field while maintaining appropriate confidentiality and professional boundaries
Working collaboratively with other FidesOak® coaches and colleagues across the programme
What we are looking for
We are looking for people with real operational experience and credibility in high-hazard environments.
You should be able to demonstrate:
Significant experience working within a high-hazard, industrial or complex operational environment
Practical working knowledge of Control of Work and the management of operational risk
A strong understanding of critical controls and barrier management
Experience working directly with frontline personnel, supervisors and operational leadership
Ideally, previous experience in a supervisory, frontline leadership or operational leadership position
Experience coaching, mentoring and developing people as part of your operational or leadership role
The ability to understand how work is actually performed and engage constructively with the realities and pressures faced by operational teams
Confidence working in field-based environments and spending significant periods on site and/or working rotational patterns
The ability to build trust and credibility quickly with people at different organisational levels
Strong listening, observation and questioning skills
The confidence to provide constructive challenge when appropriate
An understanding of leadership behaviours, psychological safety and team dynamics
Curiosity and a willingness to understand what sits behind behaviours rather than making assumptions
Strong self-awareness, judgement and professional boundaries
The ability to adapt your approach across different cultures, individuals and levels of seniority
Coaching experience
Coaching and mentoring experience is preferential.
Please send your application in English.
